Vic Hall (1944) died in January 2023, aged 96. On leaving King’s he went into the Navy, and was immediately trained in electronics and naval radar prior to being sent to trouble shoot in the Far East theatre of the 2nd World War. On being demobbed in 1948, Vic took up a place to read Geography at Sheffield University, and after a teaching diploma in Leicester, then returned to Sheffield to spend the rest of his working life as a teacher there, eventually retiring in 1981 as a Head of Geography. A keen fly fisherman, Vic had played both rugby and cricket whilst at King’s, and had always maintained a keen interest in the fortunes of the school, as well as keeping in touch with a group of friends made during his King’s days.
