Mick Craghill (1960)

Mick Craghill (1960) died in December 2022, aged 78. From King’s, he went direct into Barclays Bank, and stayed for the rest of a very successful career. He played cricket at school – eg he was a stalwart member of a 3rd XI that was the most successful school cricket side of its year; remarkably, it played no fewer than 11 fixtures during the season! Mick was leter a crucial member of the Maxonians CC during the 60s and 70s in particular, both on the field and in helping to run the club. From the school’s annual report of 1966 : ‘After the whole future of Maxonians CC as a Saturday league club cricket side had seemed in jeopardy, Mick Craghill took upon himself the task of pulling the organisation together, and was successful to the extent that there is now even competition for places!’
